Scale, spacing, color and motion show relationships between information. When every element demands attention at once, readers have to discover the priorities themselves. Good design makes that easier.
On a project page, for example, the title, the creator's role and the output should be understood before the details. Supporting information can follow that introduction; it does not all need a table or equal visual weight.
Simplicity does not mean arbitrary removal. Clear structure, precise words and timely feedback help people see what matters and what to do next. A coherent relationship between elements also contributes to the visual experience.
